A New Earth, World Wide Telecast, Oprah and Eckhart Tolle Share With The World — A Review of Chapter 1

A New Earth, Awakening Your Purpose.
From Oprah’s website:

Eckhart says “A New Earth is about you. “It will change your state of consciousness or it will be meaningless” (p. 7). How will you know if your state of consciousness is changing? There is one certain criterion by which you can measure your success in this practice: The degree of peace that you feel within.”

Are they getting across their intentions?

You can visit the message boards at Oprah.com and you will find a full spectrum of people and their opinions on this. From those who think it is some sort of far out new religion/cult to those who are totally in awe and full of gratitude to seeing Oprah do something like this with her worldwide audience.

Which part of the spectrum do you fall under?

For myself personally, it is the later. I am grateful to see this message getting out because it is something I have looked at and studied for quite some time. It is a hard concept for some people to understand and grasp, though.
I don’t think I even need to introduce or tell anyone who Oprah is or what her accomplishments are. But not everyone has probably heard of Eckert Tolle. One of his most recent, and most known is the book and audio series, “The Power of Now.”

Another quote from Tolle, from Oprah.com tells why he wrote yet another book, seeming to be on the same topic as the Power of Now.
“What is the purpose of my life and how do I fulfill that purpose?
It will be a course in self-exploration and awakening.

It will help you see what the dysfunctional patterns are within yourself that create unnecessary conflict and suffering and prevent you from finding true fulfillment.

Hopefully, it will also help you access a dimension within yourself that perhaps you didn’t know existed or only caught glimpses of on rare occasions.

Don’t be trapped for the rest of your life within the narrow confines of your personal history and your conditioned personality and allow your life to be transformed from within, through the power of consciousness itself.”

I think finding this purpose lays in the heart and soul of every human being. Only so many of us get so busy, just trying to make a life and exist day to day, that we forget to look for this purpose and enjoy where we are at now.

This class will help people focus more on that, where they are right now, and the bueaty of it, in this exact moment.

The first worldwide online webcast, broke a record for the most viewed, largest event in internet history. The first chapter basically explains what the intentions of the book are, to awaken to what your real purpose is.
That in itself seems to be a major achievement, in my opinion. The first telecast did run into some technical glitches, but have since been addressed and fixed, so the second one went off much better.

But more on that in the second chapter review.

Personally, I got the audio, as a mom, I find it easier to listen than to read. But when everyone started refering to quotes from certain pages, I decided I needed to buy the book too. :o)

I now am seeing myself go back and forth between reading and listening and highlighting the parts that have significant meaning or impact on me. I am figuring out and doing what works for me.

The book an audio are available everywhere so price shouldn’t be a problem for most people. It is definitely worth the few dollars it cost to read and take part in the free part of all this online.

Oprah, and Eckart have created an online worksheet journal area in her site where you can work and save your entries to questions on each chapter.

You can also download a pdf version of these, as well as the webcast events themselves for listening, watching or using at your own convenience. They are making all of this available for free.

I don’t know why anyone who is not interested in moving toward a higher purpose with their lives would even think about missing, or not participating in this miraculous use of modern technology.

 I listened to the first chapter class on Oprah.com yesterday.

I went and posted several comments on the message boards. I cannot believe how many unkind and controversial comments are made there. It makes me sad.

Here I would rather look at the good that is happening because of this remarkable event she is doing.

For one thing, her event was the biggest online event ever, I knew there would be problems with her server, no one could of really expected what to deal with until the event actually took place. Hopefully next week will go smoother for them.

I will be putting up weekly reviews on each chapter, but I won’t be getting this one done until this weekend, I have some other stuffed backed up that needs to get done first.

 I was reading at my favorite forum today and found a thread with some questions about using gmail. I love gmail, it is one of the best email programs I have ever used.

I did some looking and found the following video. It easily shows how to set up labels filters and forward other email addresses to your gmail account. It has a really cute star wars themed music to it.

I decided to create a few labels and cans see how it will save me some searching in the future with my gmail email account.
